Theoretical and Practical Leadership practices that have simple and effective behaviors that derive results. Working in a supervisory capacity for much of my career, I found the same consistent principles to be effective when supervising people. This is not rocket science and there is no silver bullet, but I promise if you consistently practice these concepts as a leader, you will achieve success.
Change Management
Change is a tough thing to do. 70% of change fails. It takes communication, patience, consistency and involvement of those being affected. Understanding the dynamics that surround change, realizing that there has to be a process to effectively implement and sustain change and recognition that there will be challenges to the plan are imperative to success. Keeping your eye on the goal, persistence and flexibility are key. This presentation discusses these points and link concepts for greater understanding of the complexity of change.
Motivation
It is important to understand that motivation is individualistic. As leaders, recognition that your team members are motivated in different ways is important to true leadership success. This presentation centers around Daniel Pink's book "Drive". It discusses the research around motivation and the three principles surrounding it.
Conflict Management
How do you typically handle conflict? Do you know? If not, this is the speaking engagement for you. You will do a short assessment that gives you feedback on the way you currently engage in conflict and then we will talk about specific ways to manage it and discuss a process for conflict resolution. We finish up with real life scenarios
Emotional Intelligence, What Do You Know About Yourself?
This session centers around understanding yourself better and how you show up. Do you know if you have a high EQI? Emotional intelligence is a true indicator of business success, more than IQ. It assists you in identifying those areas that may be challenging you vs. the areas you are already proficient. The great thing about EQI is that you can improve once you become aware of where you are. Understanding self is a big indicator of success as a leader.

"I first heard Dale speak at the Virginia Recreation and Park Society's Leadership Institute and I knew that I wanted to arrange for her to present to our leaders in Virginia State Parks. Her experiences in the parks and recreation profession, coupled with her perspective on leadership practices, made Dale a perfect choice for presenting "Effective Leadership Principles" to our organization. Dale's presentation was interesting, informative and inspiring! Her program provided motivation to both new managers and seasoned veterans. After the program our group had a renewed motivation to provide effective leadership for our organization."
